1998年に大阪のクラブを中心に、MC PIKKALが活動を開始する。
その2年後の2000年に,PIKKALが活動の枠を広げる為に、ニューヨークに渡米し現地での活動を開始する。
同年、selectorのSteel-Tと出会い、本格的にsoundとしてNYで活動をスタートする。その後、BRONXを拠点として活動している、GHETTO LIFEのSKERRITと出会ったのがきっかけで、同時にレギュラーもスタート。
それ以来、ブロンクスで月に2,3回のレギュラーを持ち、今年で8年目!その8年間に,ジャマイカやニューヨークのサウンドとプレイし、ニューヨーク以外では、アトランタ、ニュージャージー、ワシントン、フロリダ、そしてアメリカ以外では、バミューダでのパフォーマンスをこなしている。

1998年
Pikkalが、KING JAMを結成。

2000年
海外での活動を求め、PikkalがNYに渡米。
現地で現セレクターSteel-Tがメンバーになる。
Skerritと出会いNYで海外最初のダンスでプレイする。

2002年
春と夏、にアトランタで “Stone Love”とプレイする。
“Bass Odessay”とブロンクスでプレイする。

2003年
HOT97でレギュラーを持つsound “Massive B”とプレイする。
アトランタのshowでブルックリンの”Steelie Bashment”
(from waan gwaan radio)と,元Black Chinyの”Chip Lee”と共にプレイする。

2004年
BRONXのEmerald Loungeで開始した、JIGGY FRIDAYでプレイする。
MCとしてHAJIが新たなメンバーとなり、MIKI ROONIEも、エンジニアとセレクターとして新たなメンバーになる。
下記に記載したCDに収録。
夏には”Juelz Santana” と”Mr.Eazy”とshowをこなし、同年末には,
“Mighty Crown” と”Massive B”とダンスでプレイする。
HajiとMikiRoonieが、新たなメンバーになる。

2005年
“Mighty Crown” とニューバーグ(NYのアップステイト)でプレイするブルクッリンのsound “Afrique”のSupa Flexのプロモーションでジャマイカのサウンンド “Fire Links”そして”Stone Love”とのダンスでプレイ。
その後、ワシントンDCでプレイする。
夏には海外でのダンスを、バミューダでこなす。

2006年
Pikkalが帰国、同時に日本での活動も再開。
KINGJAMのオフィシャルウェブサイトが完成。
Pikkalが帰国して、日本での活動を再開。現在、ニューヨークと日本を活動の拠点としているサウンドです。

2006年4月
Unlimited Mix Vol 1 “Bring It Back”7インチのオリジナルケース
に入ったAll DubPlate Mixをリリースする。

2006年10月
新たにGlobal-GがKing Jamのメンバーとなる。
Unlimited Mix Vol 2 “Time A Go Tell Wi”をリリースする。

Born in Osaka, Japan, King Jam is an up and coming international sound system. Pikkal founded King Jam in 1998 and played in Osaka clubs until he brought his ambition to New York in 2000. He wanted to improve his language skills and experience the foreign dancehall scene firsthand. Soon after Pikkal’s arrival in New York he met current selector Steel-T. Those two would link up with Skerrit from Bronx-based Ghetto Life crew just browsing in an electronics shop one day. Thanks to Skerrit and Ghetto Life crew, King Jam is on its way to becoming a world class sound.

Skerrit invited the young Japanese sound to play alongside Ghetto Life at a dance in the Bronx. After its first performance King Jam got the Bronx stamp of approval. The two sounds and other Bronx sounds have come together to nice up that dancehall ever since.

Massive B, Afrique, Bass Odyssey, Stone Love, and Fire Links are just some of the all-star sounds that King Jam has joined forces with in the past five years. In 2004, King Jam grew even more talented when Miki Rooney and Haji joined the crew. As of 2006, thanks to additional support from Flex of Afrique, King Jam has mashed it up in Connecticut, Jersey, D.C., Atlanta, Miami, and Bermuda. In 2006, the plan is to cover both sides of the Pacific, one team in Japan and one in the U.S. These are the hardest working Japanese men in the biz, and their motivation is true love for reggae music.
